Fruit seeds are usually disposed as waste by product during processing or just after human consumption.[cite: 12] Over the years, researchers have devoted their efforts to identify the nutritional values of many different fruit seeds.[cite: 12] Mengkudu has been used widely for centuries by traditional medical practitioners in Hawaii and Polynesia to cure or prevent varieties of illness.[cite: 12] It is also popular as a food functional ingredient, natural health enhancer or a dietary supplement.[cite: 12] This research project was carried out to and provide useful information on the nutrient composition of the Mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) fruits seeds cultivated in Sabah through proximate analysis, to quantify the total phenolic compound by using the Folin-Ciocalteu method and to determine the antioxidant properties of the mengkudu (Morinda citrifolia) fruit seeds by using the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) method.[cite: 12] The sample used in this research is within the same species of fruit seeds which is the Morinda citrifolia Linn. but collected at a different cultivation area.[cite: 12] Morinda citrifolia is the scientific name of the underutilised fruit that is usually commercially known as Noni.[cite: 12] Noni grows on a wide variety of soils and survives in severe habitats such as rocky, sandy, coastal and volcanic soils.[cite: 12] The noni plant is considered salinity tolerant, including areas flooded by tsunamis, even benefiting from the minerals contained in seawater.[cite: 12] The statistical analysis for the proximate composition which is the moisture content, crude fat content, crude fiber content and ash content shows that there is a significant different ($\rho<0.05$) between the sample.[cite: 12] The total of phenolic compound affects the antioxidant properties of the mengkudu fruit seeds.[cite: 12] However, further research is needed in order to determine the complete profiles of the nutritional and bioactive components available in the mengkudu fruit seeds and other extrinsic factor that could affect the nutrients inside the mengkudu fruit seeds and the bioactive compound.
